TONY J HAZELL - CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Tony is the founder of Anthony Moreton Group and as Chief Executive, is responsible for the strategic planning and high level management of the company. In addition to his management responsibilities, Tony remains closely involved in the sourcing and structuring of transactions and capital raising.
With over 25 years of practical experience, Tony has a wealth of knowledge and a strong network of contacts in the property finance sector. Tony has set high standards and goals for himself and the Anthony Moreton Group team since its inception, the achievement of which has been borne out by the group's pre-eminent reputation and success in the property industry.
Tony’s focus is on building long term relationships to achieve successful wealth creation outcomes for all parties.
Structured Property Finance
DARREN HANSON - MANAGING DIRECTOR, STRUCTURED PROPERTY FINANCE
Darren commenced his career as a chartered accountant and has worked in both public practice and the banking and finance industry in Australia and overseas.
Darren's early career was spent working in public practice in the field of business services, where he developed his skills in the area of financial analysis, taxation and systems controls.
Prior to joining Anthony Moreton Group in 2001, Darren also spent four years in the United Kingdom working in the area of IT Finance with investment bank's Citibank and Credit Suisse First Boston. During this time, Darren worked on significant infrastructure projects and business mergers developing excellent analytical and budgetary skills.
As Managing Director of Structured Property Finance, Darren is primarily responsible for business and product development within the group including transaction origination and capital raising activities.
Greg Hazell – Director, Property Services
Greg has over 10 year’s experience in the property development and construction industry.
Prior to joining Anthony Moreton Group in mid 2011 Greg worked for a private property development company for 7 years which specialised in residential property developments.
In his prior role Greg was involved in all aspects of property development including sourcing the land, project analysis and feasibilities, preparing development applications, construction supervision, council and other agencies liaisons.
As Director Property Services, Greg is primarily responsible for providing oversight to ensure property developments are being actively managed to ensure a high level of risk mitigation for our clients.
HUGH THOMSON - ANALYST, STRUCTURED PROPERTY FINANCE
Hugh joined the Structured Property Finance division of Anthony Moreton Group as an Analyst early in 2013, after working for a Brisbane based property development company for nearly three years. In this role as an Assistant Development & Acquisitions Manager, Hugh gained exposure to many asset classes and was heavily involved in portfolio restructuring, feasibility studies and valuation analysis.
Having completed a Bachelor degree in Architecture and Property Economics in 2011, Hugh has a broad knowledge of all facets of the property lifecycle, from identification and acquisition to construction and sales. He is also continuing further studies, currently completing a Master of Business (Applied Finance) at the Queensland University of Technology.
Hugh’s current role as analyst is to assist in the financial analysis and structuring of real estate and investment opportunities. Since joining he has gained exposure to a number of property development and investment transactions, building upon his analytical and technical skills.
PAUL GUDE - MANAGING DIRECTOR, FUNDS MANAGEMENT
Paul brings extensive experience to the company within the finance industry, with over 25 years employment within the finance market. Paul not only holds the position of Managing Director, Funds Management but along with Tony Hazell is also an original founding member of Anthony Moreton Group.
As a director on the funds management board, Paul’s role extends to analysis of fund opportunities and investment placement, compliance requirements and strategic planning.
Paul's previous employment has been with National Australia Bank, before moving on to the more flexible and challenging fields of mortgage origination, structured property finance and now funds management.
He has had extensive exposure to differing finance transactions, ranging from the more traditional mould of bank and institutional placements, to the more complex nature of highly leveraged structured finance requirements. Such exposure has been associated with client requirements across all market sectors.
Paul possesses strong analytical and technical skills in the areas of transaction assessment/structuring and has a track record of achieving successful outcomes for clients.
Leo Van Veen - Senior Portfolio Manager, Funds Management
Leo has worked within the banking and finance industry for the past 22 years and joined the Anthony Moreton Group in October 2007.
After an initial 10 years with the National Australia Bank, Leo specialised in property finance after joining a private finance group and then moved into further roles with the global finance institutions ORIX and ING Groups in their Commercial Property Finance divisions. These roles have provided Leo with significant experience in all facets of property finance including both construction and investment lending.
This experience has seen Leo manage various lending portfolios as well as assisting in structuring and delivering tailored finance through a diverse range of products and transactions including residential and industrial subdivisions, retail, commercial and industrial developments and investments.
Leo’s role as Senior Portfolio Manager Funds Management is to provide management of various individual transactions for clients whilst also developing and maintaining strong relationships with financiers and consultants.
